
Page Tucker, CEO/President and Board Member
Mr. Tucker has an extensive background in start-ups, marketing,
recruiting and executive management of technology businesses. Formerly,
Mr. Tucker was the founder of Impact Solutions, Inc., a Charlotte,
NC
based company founded in 1995 to provide state-of-the-art database
solutions and GIS services to the automotive retail industry. In 1999
Mr. Tucker was the cofounder of e-autobusiness a leading provider
of web
based hosted data services and Impact Solution products to hundreds
of
dealerships throughout the United States. Page served as CEO through
the
critical formative years until he resigned his position in 2003 to
form
Guardian ProStar, Inc. Page served as the business development manager
of Guardian from its inception in 2004 through mid 2005 when he was
appointed to his current position as the CEO and President.
John Poulter, Capital Funding/Financial Consultant and
Board Member
John is a founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of
Cumberland Private Wealth Management and has 20 years investment management
experience. Cumberland is a Toronto, ON Canada based boutique investment
management company that focuses on high net worth families. The company has
grown from 350 million under management in 1997 to over 1.5 billion in 2005
The Company also provides investment services to other investment distribution
organizations. At Cumberland, Mr. Poulter oversees the development and application
of the Company's quantitative investment technologies. His responsibilities
include quantitative investment selection, portfolio strategy and portfolio
risk management. He also develops and manages the firm’s specialized
investment mandates and funds. Prior to founding Cumberland, John has worked
with Connor Clark & Company and Wood Gundy. He graduated with a BA in
Economics from the University of British Columbia in 1984 and received his
CFA designations in 1991.
Mark Beckner, Chief Software
Architect/Engineer
Mark is a Business Integration specialist who has worked with
numerous clients ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 firms to build
scalable, highly available EAI and B2B systems, using a wide variety of
technologies and languages. He has extensive experience in all aspects
of the development life cycle, from initial client consultations and requirements
gathering, through design, development, documentation, quality assurance,
and support. He is responsible for Guardian ProStar's Electronic Management
and Distribution System which will deliver ProStar Data Products to clients
via the Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
Mark has earned a number of awards and professional certifications
from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified Solution Developer for Microsoft
.NET (MSCD.NET/MSCD), and was a speaker during Microsoft's BizTalk
2004 in a Service-Oriented World Conference. He is the author of Pro
EDI in BizTalk Server 2006 R2: Electronic Document Interchange Solutions (APress,
2007) and co-author of BizTalk 2006 Recipes (APress, 2006).
Scott A. Jones, Senior Software Developer
Scott Jones has more than 20 years experience as a professional
programmer and applications developer in both the personal computer and embedded
systems environment. His specialty is redesigning obsolete or poorly designed
source code and giving it new life by porting it to modern platforms and/or
languages, and giving it sensible structure. He is fluent with languages
including ASM, C, C++, the Microsoft .Net environment, Java, Web Services
and a variety of application languages and scripting environments including
Cold Fusion, ASP, PERL, SQL, PLC and LADDER. Scott is an author with credits
for chapters and software contributions in Fun With Fractals, SYBEX © 1993
and, Stupid PC Tricks, Addison-Wesley © 1992. In addition, he has developed,
written and marketed Recursive Realm and Miller, both mathematical modeling/education
software packages. Scott holds a BA from University of Arizona.
 Kenneth Palmer, CPA
For more than 14 years Ken Palmer has been serving corporations
with their tax and accounting needs. For the last 8 years Ken held the
position of senior managing partner and owner with Frost, Palmer & Stephens,
P.C., a Flagstaff, Arizona certified public accounting firm which serves
businesses in Arizona, Colorado, California, and Utah. His focus is in
providing consulting services to clients in strategic tax and business
planning, entity restructuring, liquidations, and buy-sell arrangements.
In May, 2005, Mr. Palmer resigned his position with Frost, Palmer & Stephens,
P.C. to join the Guardian ProStar, Inc. team. He holds a Masters Degree
in Taxation (1993) from Arizona State University and a BS in Accounting
(1992) from Northern Arizona University.
Herb McKim, P. E. and Board
Member
Herb McKim is cofounder of McKim & Creed, PA, a 450 person
civil engineering, surveying, and planning consultancy, headquartered
in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1978, the firm operates eighteen
offices located in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida and today is an ENR
Top 500 Design Firm and Top 200 Environmental Firm in the US. Mr. McKim's
daily responsibilities include managing the Geomatics Division of McKim & Creed
(surveying and mapping, SUE, and GIS) with a staff of 235. He has extensive
experience with water, sanitary sewer and storm water utilities including
master planning, treatment design, pipe network designs, SCADA systems, GIS
systems, design surveys, as-built surveys, and GIS field verification and
data collection.
Mr. McKim is a Professional Engineer. He received civil engineering degrees,
BSCE and MCE, from North Carolina State University and an MBA from University
of North Carolina-Wilmington. He serves on the Dean's Advisory Council for
the UNC-W Cameron School of Business and his previous tenures include serving
as the president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of NC.
Tom Y. Sawyer, Chief
Technology Consultant and Board Member
Mr. Sawyer is a proven and seasoned professional in the technology
sector. Prior to joining Guardian ProStar Mr. Sawyer provided consulting
management and technology services to technology enterprises throughout Colorado.
Formerly, Mr. Sawyer founded and sold an Internet data storage company, served
as President of Western Regional Networks, a regional Internet Service Provider,
and served as President of Mover's Suite Software, a Moving Industry Enterprise
Software company, before resigning to start his own consulting services company.
Tom served as Manager/Director of Information Technology for the Martin Marietta
Space Launch Systems Titan IV missile program from 1987 to 1994, where he
received the outstanding achievement award for Information Technology Management
in his last year of service. Prior to his Aerospace career, Tom served in
progressively more responsible financial management and planning positions
in banking, technology services and computer manufacturing. Tom holds a BSBA
degree in Finance from the University of Florida.
Daniel E. Colby, Chief GIS Consultant
Daniel Colby is the Co-founder and President of Sentinel Utility
Services of America, Inc. (Sentinel USA, Inc., Newark, Ohio) the nation's
leading supplier of Automated Mapping/Facilities Management systems. Mr.
Colby's career spans more than 12 years in GIS, mapping and digital technologies.
He has served as Project Manager for various companies including Georgia
Power, Southern Bell Telephone, Crescent Electric Membership Corp., North
Georgia Electrical Membership Corp. and Cullman Electric Cooperative. Mr.
Colby is active in MultiSpeak and other Rural Electrification initiatives,
has served on the interim board of directors for the initiative known as
the Pipeline Open Standard (PODS) which has grown to become the foundation
association for gas and pipeline companies using GIS. Mr. Colby continues
to serve PODS Association as a member of its Board of Directors. His article, “New
System Combines Mapping and GIS to Help Excavators Avoid Lines”, was
published as the cover story in the January/February 2003 issue of Underground
Focus magazine.
Edwin L. Hartz, Chief Intellectual
Property Consultant and Advisor To The Board
Mr. Hartz provides Guardian ProStar with practical advice,
thorough analysis, experienced judgment, and innovative approaches concerning
the profitable exploitation of intellectual properties. Prior to joining
the Guardian ProStar team, he spent 32 years with the patent law firm
of Christie, Parker & Hale in Pasadena, California. There, Mr. Hartz
served as both senior partner and managing partner before leaving the
firm to return to Colorado. He is admitted to practice in numerous courts
and jurisdictions, including US Federal Court, Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals, US Supreme Court and the Federal Court of Appeals.
