ProStar's Value

ProStar Software & Services Unique Value Proposition

ProStar's unique software and services make field operations more productive by reducing the cost of workflow processes and improving the management, validity and quality of the field data. Our data structures and methods enable a multidimensional view and metrics of key processes in the GIS data life cycle that have historically only been viewed in one dimension. Best of all, our open architecture and design enable clients to easily integrate our systems and immediately enhance operations without substantial re-engineering of current practices or additional investment in licenses and hardware.

Today, ProStar software and services has an emphasis on GIS field data operations including the collection, verification and rectification of utility asset data that resides on office GIS systems. Accurate data collection operations of new facilities as well as existing GIS data is implemented by the system enabling clients to carry the office GIS data into the field to record the actual data location. This includes, existing utility records which often are inaccurate and need to be verified and rectified for informational accuracy both from a geospatial and an attribution point of view.

ProStar Web Based Data Management Services

With ProStar secure data network, utility data repository and data management tools, field data can be gathered simultaneously, from multiple data collectors, uploaded to a data repository and made available in real time to the GIS manager in the office. In addition, with our patents pending precision process no fidelity is lost through processing errors and full data integrity is maintained from initial data collection through final use. This progress and project status can be viewed via a web browser from any location with an internet connection. In addition, operators working on the site can be aware of co-workers’ progress via synchronized project view, making all work available to any operator.

Since the timely delivery of data collected is essential to understanding work progress, our web based communication system enables real-time synchronization of field data back to the office. Bi-directional communication protocol means the project manager can annotate a point on his office GIS and “point-it-out” to his field crew out in the field on the project site. This represents a quantum improvement in collaborative capability. Because the data collection operations are readily shared and promote collaboration and people working together, “data siloing” is eliminated. Situational awareness of all disciplines including project view, QC and field crew management is greatly improved, repeat work mitigated and productivity increased.

Field Data Collection, Rectification and Verification Software

Often, utility operators are forced to make important business decisions about their facilities through limited presentations, often unaware of precise locations, conditions or important feature and attribute data. This is due to the fact that a great deal of all existing utility location data was gathered using paper systems and then entered into a GIS system back at the office, As a result, being able to take the GIS out into the field becomes a critical component for precise field data collection, rectification and data verification operations.

With our systems and the ability to take GIS out into the field, utility asset data is now easily located, verified and rectified with a significant improvement in data distribution, accuracy, efficiency and worker productivity. This means utility assets location points can be collected, stored, processed, distributed, displayed and reported directly from the field to the office in real time.
