ProStar’s SaaS products are designed to improve the exposure and the consumption associated to asset location data for the construction project lifecycle. Data exposure means all facets of the project life cycle and project status can be viewed via a web browser from any Mobile device or desk top PC with an internet connection. This means office personnel and field operators can now view and monitor construction site activities, including One Call Ticket procedures and locate mark outs, heavy equipment movement as well as excavation operations. Consumption means that the data can also be consumed by clients in order to create and add new values in internal operational systems and/or to correct any dated or incorrect files that exist.

The ProStar SaaS architecture also means that the project lifecycle operations can be readily shared internally and externally so collaboration is supported and many current challenges associated to “data siloing” are eliminated. Through ProStar’s SaaS , all phases of data capture, communication, sharing and collaboration are significantly improved. Project managers, utility personnel and even equipment operators can now have visibility of the construction environment and visualize the work flow progress as it occurs in the field. Regardless if its data exposure through the Prostar Portal or data consumption with ProStarOnline, these tools and communication protocols represent a quantum improvement in collaborative capabilities, data quality assurance, asset management and damage prevention practices. The result is that all project management disciplines, including project view, QC, design & planning, field crew management, productivity and worker safety are greatly improved.

Prostar Portal™

The ProStar Portal™ provides the user with the ability to visualize subsurface utility information repositories, databases and services both inside and outside the organization. ProStar Portal features a Global Positioning System “GPS” centric view of surface and subsurface utility data.  Associated data elements or “attributes” are related to their root GPS location points.  The ProStar Portal also provides the tools required to manage content and to analyze and interrelate it. The ProStar Portal enables clients to view the project data lifecycle including, data as it is being captured and stored from both a desktop scenario and from a mobile scenario. The ProStar Portal's security allows project views of the data to be specific to individual accounts, group access or project roles.

ProStar Connect™

ProStar Connect is secure business rules and integration framework used to integrate processes from data collection in the field to forwarding data to back-end geographic information system (GIS) repositories.  It is comprised of the unique and proprietary processes and business rules created by ProStar as well as the off the shelf hardware and software required to operate the hosted servers and secure network. Prostar Connect is where the business rules, reports and other related mechanisms are created in order to meet industry specific as well as client specific requirements. ProStar Connect is a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering that sits on top of a Class 1 Hosted Services Environment to meet security, roll over and scalability requirements to both Department of Defense (DOD) privacy and security protocols as well as scale to Global Operations.

Prostar EGS ™

ProStar EGS or “excavation guidance system” describes the business rule features and functionality required to track the movement and digging activity of heavy equipment while operating around utility assets during construction. The system is designed to display the location of a mobile devise relative to project site data available on the network. The system is designed to display location asset data including buried and surface features as well as all the available project site data, including mapped reference data and relative to the devise’s position in real-time. This means the system provides awareness information to a field operator, equipment operator or any person with a mobile app running ProStar, including the visuals of the maps, ground features, dig zones, One Call ticket boundaries, site mark outs and any other pertinent information. Situational awareness as to where conflicts may occur relative to construction site personnel and equipment movement provides safety and efficiencies in digging operations and related job site procedures. The system can be configured to provide distance measurements and tolerances buffer zones, predestinated violation parameters and other actionable items to the operator, field crews or any client viewing the data from the portal.
